This villa’s interior did not require bold gestures but a delicate reconfiguration of perception. The house – with its uncommon geometry, softly curving walls, expressive sculptural stair, and warm marble floors – could not be rewritten, yet it revealed a rhythm that we sought to listen to and refine. Our interventions were subtle: we tuned planes, disciplined the flow of light and harmonized disparate elements so they would no longer compete but sustain one another. The result reads not as a renovation but as a considered re-articulation of the home’s character.

HARMONY OF LINES AND MATERIALS

A new system of panels and linings gathered the space and established a calm vertical rhythm, gently guiding the eye along the complex geometry. Natural tones – off-whites, ochres, timber grains – and succinct graphic details accentuate the plasticity of form without contradicting existing features. The curved walls weren’t concealed; they became integral to a fluent spatial logic. Furniture and sculptural objects act as points of concentration around which comfort and completeness are composed.

LIGHT AS THE STRUCTURE OF SPACE

Light in this project is not mere illumination but an architectural instrument: uplighting and hidden sources model surfaces, reveal curves and enhance the tactility of materials. Patagonia marble anchors the social areas – its bold veining and capacity for delicate backlighting bring clarity and freshness to the rooms. Light that filters along the stone’s veins makes the material appear to breathe from within, lending the interior a living, breathing quality.

In the end, “Ornament of Light” is not an interior that conquered a difficult architecture, but a space in which we learned to listen and retune. Where compromises might have appeared, a precise, expressive wholeness emerged.
